Our Preferred Translation Process
In today’s dynamic language services market, you have to make sure that you can be flexible in your processes and are ready to modify, customise and adapt your internal processes to suit different needs of different clients. We allow great flexibility in our processes while still maintaining and ensuring high quality at all stages. This enables us to provide our services to different clients whose needs may vary. When we are responsible for the entire translation process of a project, we recommend that the translation goes through two quality checks before being delivered to the client as explained in the section below. The number of reviews and the specifications of each review can also be adjusted by the client.
01. Translation
Understanding the meaning and content of the source text and the subsequent rendering in written form of that content into the target language, while strictly following the client’s requirements and reference material provided.
02. Editing
A bilingual examination of the translated content against the source content done by a person other than the translator to check for the level of quality of the translation in terms of context, style, terminology and consistency. The editor adopts strategies to enhance the quality of the translation and improve on the fluency, coherency and style of the language.
03. Proofreading and Linguistic Sign-Off
A bilingual examination of the edited target language text. The proofreading stage comes at the very end of the whole translation process and the proofreader is expected to scan and examine the target text to look out for spelling, formatting, syntax and punctuation errors. We usually do the proofreading as part of the linguistic sign-off which is done once the translated and edited text has passed any necessary DTP process.
Quality Control for Every Team Member
Independent of the kind of projects we are entrusted with and the number of reviews demanded by the client, we perform constant internal monitoring of the quality produced by our team members. Our QC Reviewers follow strict review frequencies based on predefined volumes quotas for every team member.
